Witnesses to arson in Tilehurst sought
Couple in their 50's escape house blaze
TWO people in Tilehurst narrowly escaped an arson in their home.
The victims, both in their 50s, were woken by a smoke alarm in their Don Close home at 2.26am on Friday, June 10.
They fled the house and called the fire brigade who extinguished the blaze.
The pair suffered minor injuries and required hospital treatment.
They have since been released from hospital.
Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses to the arson with intent to endanger life.
Investigating officer Det Con Alex Coyne, said: "I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident or about the person or persons responsible for this offence to contact me via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101.
