Watch manager of White Watch at Newbury fire station, Phil Knight, said pumps from three fire stations, including Lambourn, Hungerford and Newbury, were called at around mid-day to a car in a ditch on the Wantage/B4001 road.
A woman trapped in the upside down hatchback was cut free by fire crews.
She was then airlifted to hospital by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, with what was believed to be head injuries.
Fire crews were at the scene about an hour and the road was closed during the incident.
