Woman assaulted on canal boat by stranger in Sulhamstead - Thames Valley Police appeal for witnesses to come forward
A woman was assaulted on her canal boat by a stranger.
And Thames Valley Police is now appealing for any witnesses to the incident in Sulhamstead to come forward.
At approximately 2pm on Saturday, August 10, the victim, a woman in her forties, was on her canal boat near Tyle Mill swing bridge.
The unknown man approached the boat and assaulted her. She did not require hospital treatment.
The offender is described as around 6ft tall, of medium build, with short brown hair. He was wearing a red t-shirt and cargo style shorts.
Investigating officer Sgt Macy Watson, based at Newbury police station, said: “I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this, or was along the canal at the time, to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
“Violence, especially against a woman, will not be tolerated and we will do everything we can bring justice to the victim and continue to keep our communities safe.”
