Woman assaulted in suspected kidnapping on Hambridge Road, Newbury

LEARN MOREThames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to an assault in Newbury last night (Wednesday).
The police received a report of a woman falling from a moving vehicle, a grey Volkswagen Polo, on Hambridge Road at around 11.15pm.
Officers attended and located the victim, aged in her twenties, on Hambridge Road.
A 38-year-old-man from Kent has since been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, wounding and inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.
He remains in police custody.
The victim sustained a fractured skull and a broken arm and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for further treatment, where she remains.
Newbury police station's detective constable Pete Brooks said: “I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this incident to please get in touch with us.
“Also, if you have any CCTV footage in the area or any dash-cam footage if you were in the area around the time. I’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation."
