Reading Magistrates' Court: Newbury woman assaulted man and wrecked hotel room
A WOMAN has been convicted of assaulting a man and wrecking a hotel room.
In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, May 26, was Rose Rhyain Davies.
The 25-year-old, of London Road, Newbury, had previously denied both offences but subsequently changed her mind and admitted them both.
She was convicted of assaulting Richard Popplewell by beating him in Thatcham on April 20 last year.
Ms Davies was also convicted of causing £1,050 worth of damage to a television, bowls, curtains and mirrors at the Mercure West Grange Hotel in Midgham on the same occasion.
Magistrates made her subject to a 12-month community order and told to complete 180 hours of unpaid community work.
In addition, she was ordered to pay £600 costs.
Finally, Ms Davies was ordered to pay £1,050 compensation to the hotel in lieu of an otherwise statutory victim services surcharge.
