Reading Magistrates' Court: Lambourn woman admits pets scam
A LAMBOURN woman has admitted conning people out of money for pets which never materialised.
On Wednesday, August 4, Katie-Miles Tucker pleaded guilty to the offence at Reading Magistrates’ Court.
Specifically the 31-year-old, who lives at The Granthams, admitted committing fraud by dishonestly accepting cash deposits from her victims having promised to sell an animal to each of them, when she knew she was unable to do so.
The fraud was committed between May and August last year.
Ms Miles-Tucker, who is also known as Katie Marie Clark, according to court documents, was told by magistrates that they needed pre-sentence reports before proceeding any further.
They therefore adjourned the case while these are prepared and warned her they would be prepared on an ‘all options’ sentencing basis, including a possible custodial sentence.
Ms Miles-Tucker was meanwhile released on unconditional bail.
