Woman devastated over lost wedding ring

West Berkshire woman said ring had enormous sentimental value as it had belonged to her late mother

A THATCHAM woman who lost her wedding ring has made an impassioned plea for help in finding it.

Janette Drewitt, of Rudland Close, said the gold band was doubly sentimental because it had originally belonged to her late mother.

And her father, who suffers from dementia, used it to help him remember past times.

Mrs Drewitt, aged 35, said: “Last Thursday, November 10, I went to the Market Place in Newbury and then went to Hungerford. I am a Dementia Support Worker for Age UK so I collected a client and we went and parked in Hungerford Tesco car park.

“From there we went to the Tutti Pole cafe for a cake and a coffee. After we had finished we went back to the car and I dropped my client off at home. When I returned to my car I realised that I had lost the ring. It's very sentimental to me and, as you can imagine, my heart dropped.”

She added: “I spent the rest of the afternoon retracing my steps and going in every shop that we had passed. My father uses my ring to recollect memories of his younger days.

“I'm willing to offer a reward to the person who finds the ring.”

Mother-of-one Mrs Drewitt said husband Wayne had been very understanding and had helped look for it.
