Woman dies and man taken to hospital in New Years Eve road collision on the B4192

A woman has died and a man taken to hospital following a serious road collision between two vehicles on New Year's Eve.

Marlborough Police responded to the accident on the B4192 between Whittonditch and Knighton, around 3.30pm on December 31.

Sadly the driver of one of the vehicles, a woman in her early 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other car, a man in his early 20s, has been taken to hospital to be treated for potentially life-changing injuries.

The families of those involved in the incident have been informed and are being supported by family liaison officers.

Marlborough Police said: "Our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time. We would ask that their privacy is respected.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have captured dash cam footage to contact us on 101 quoting log 189 of December 31."
