Reading Magistrates' Court: Newbury woman drove after drinking almost twice limit




A WOMAN was caught behind the wheel after drinking nearly twice the legal limit.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, February 8, was Syeda Zaidi.

The 37-year-old, of Oddfellows heights, off Oddfellows Road, Newbury, admitted driving a Nissan Juke on Pinchington Lane, Newbury, on Thursday, January 5, after drinking more than the legal limit.

Tests showed 62mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system.

The legal limit is 35mcg.

Ms Zaidi also admitted failing to surrender to bail on Tuesday, February 7.

She was fined £307.

In addition, Ms Zaidi was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £123.

Finally, she was banned from driving for 17 months.
