Woman rows equivalent of 162 miles for West Berkshire Therapy Centre

A woman has gone the extra mile for her employer, West Berkshire Therapy Centre, and raised £1,000.

Catherine Belcher, from Thatcham, has rowed the equivalent of 162 miles on a power-assisted seated rower at the centre.

Miss Belcher used the specialist equipment weekly for an entire year.

Not only have her efforts raised funds to cover running costs of the centre in the Frank Hutchings Hall, Harts Hill Road, but it eased her aches and pains.

Therapy centre trustee John Holt said: “This is a truly magnificent achievement and is a testimony not only to how the centre's equipment has helped to improve Catherine's well-being, but is an inspirational message to others as to how they also might use our equipment and meet their own challenging targets.

“Well done and thank you Catherine.”
