Woman held at knife point in Tilehurst robbery





The woman was walking home when she was approached by a masked man near the library on School Road at around 4.30am.
He threatened her with a knife and stole her mobile phone from her hand before holding the knife to her throat.
The woman told him that she had no money on her and he let her go.
The man is described as black and around 5ft 8in tall wearing a white tee shirt under black clothing.
Detective Inspector Clare Knibbs said: "This has been a frightening ordeal for the girl who had a knife put to her throat as she walked home.
"She was not injured in the incident but has been left very shaken and distraught.
"There is a scene watch in place outside the library and a full investigation is being carried out to trace the offender."
