Woman in a life threatening condition after being hit by a car in Hungerford




High Street closed off

A WOMAN in a life threatening condition has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Hungerford this afternoon.

The crash occurred near the 'dangerous' zebra crossing in Hungerford High Street.

Ambulances were called at 12.13pm to reports that a woman in her 70s had been struck by a car.

A spokesman for the South Central Ambulance, David Gallagher, described the woman's injuries as life threatening.

He added that she was taken to Swindon's Great Western Hospital.

Mr Gallagher said it is believed that the male driver of the car was having a medical episode at the time of the collision.

He was also taken to hospital.

Hungerford High Street has been closed.
