Woman injured in multiple car collision
Driver cut free after collision on the M4 between Theale and Newbury last night (Sunday)
A WOMAN was taken to hospital last night (Sunday) following a three-car collision on the M4.
Police were called to the incident on the eastbound carriageway between Junction 12, Theale and 13, Chieveley, at around 7.15pm.
Three fire pumps from Newbury, Hungerford and Reading attended and had to cut free the female driver of a grey Toyota Yaris, who had become trapped inside the vehicle.
She was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, as a precaution.
The other cars involved were a grey Audi A4 and a blue Nissan Almera.
No other injuries were reported.
Two lanes were closed while the debris was cleared, and were re-opened a 9.10pm.
The incident caused traffic problems for several hours.
