Woman reunited with precious lost locket
A woman who lost her necklace has thanked a Thatcham woman for her appeal on this website
A WOMAN who thought her valued necklace was lost forever has praised the thoughtfulness of a Thatcham woman for helping her get it back.
Teresa Cole, of Newbury, lost her silver locket containing two pictures, one of her late grandfather and one of her late pet dog, whilst out in Bowdown Woods, Greenham, in November.
Two months later, a Thatcham woman, who has asked not to be named, found the necklace whilst she was out walking in the same woods at about 4pm on Monday, January 3.
Having contacted the Newbury Weekly News, an appeal for the owner of the locket to come forward was published on our website, Newburytoday.co.uk, on Monday, January 10. By that afternoon, Mrs Cole had seen the headline and immediately got in touch.
She said she had been devastated when she realised that she had lost her locket, and was extremely thankful that it was found.
She said of the woman who returned it to her: "Not many people would have gone to the bother that that lady went to.
"I am very grateful to her, it puts your faith back in people."
