Woman robbed in Newbury underpass
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman's handbag was snatched in the Queen's Road area
POLICE are urging any witnesses to a robbery in a Newbury underpass on New Year's Eve to come forward.
At about 2.45am, on Friday, December 31, a 29-year-old woman was walking along the underpass between St Johns Road and Queens Road when she was approached from behind by two men.
One of the men grabbed her handbag and both then ran off towards the town centre.
The woman suffered a cut to her face but did not require hospital treatment.
The offenders have been described as white, in their twenties and they were wearing hooded tops; one of the men was considerably taller than the other.
