A WOMAN has appeared in court charged with seriously assaulting another female at Christmas.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Thursday, July 14, was Alison Rimple.

The 53-year-old, of Matthews Close, Thatcham, is accused of assaulting Marjorie Barahmeh, thereby causing her actual bodily harm, in Thatcham on or about December 25 last year.

She is further charged with causing criminal damage to property belonging to Lee-Anne Rimple on the same occasion.

Ms Rimple, who was legally represented by Jeremy Yuille, was told the case could proceed no further that day.

Magistrates sent it to Reading Crown Court to be dealt with by a judge and, in the event of a trial, by a jury.

Mr Rimple was meanwhile granted unconditional bail.
