Woman suffered "non life-threatening" injuries in A339 crash

The incident occurred shortly after 5.30pm on the stretch of the carriageway between the Sainsbury’s and Robin Hood roundabouts and involved one lorry and three cars.
Fire crews from Newbury attended and rescued a female driver from one of the cars using hydraulic cutting equipment. She was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading with injuries not thought to be life threatening, according to South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) spokeswoman Michelle Archer.
Two other patients were treated at the scene.
The incident caused severe delays during the evening rush hour - particularly for those travelling from the south - with traffic grinding to a halt at the Sainsbury’s roundabout while vehicles stuck in the northbound carriageway were filtered back into southbound traffic.
The road remained closed until 9.30pm.
