Woman taken to hospital with back injuries following collision on the A34

Road reopened after two vehicle collision

A WOMAN has been taken to hospital with back injuries following a collision on the A34 this afternoon (Monday).

The collision, believed to have involved a car towing a caravan and an HGV, led to the southbound section of the road between Speen and Tot Hill to be blocked.

The lady, aged in her 60s, has been taken to Basingstoke Hospital with back injuries.

Another person has been taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.

One lane has now reopened and normal conditions are expected at around 7pm.

Highways England have said that there are currently delays of half an hour owing to the congestion.

Queuing traffic is said to have not reached the M4 junction but is at the A339 junction at Speen.

The stretch of road is now open.
