Compton woman Agnieszka Jezierska took own life, coroner rules
A WOMAN who was frightened of moving home took her own life, a coroner concluded.
An inquest into the death of Agnieszka Jezierska, of Ilsley Road, Compton, was held in Reading Town Hall on Tuesday, October 29.
Berkshire coroner Heidi Connor said the 38-year-old had told Dr Ben Loxton-Edwards, her GP at Strawberry Hill Medical Centre in Newbury, that she had been suffering low mood, anxiety and panic attacks.
She had been referred to mental health services and had been prescribed both medication and therapy, the hearing was told.
At one point Ms Jezierska contacted the mental health crisis team stating she felt “overwhelmed” with suicidal thoughts.
The inquest heard she was also troubled by the prospect of having to leave her accommodation as someone there was becoming aggressive.
A member of the crisis team said in a statement that Ms Jezierska had found somewhere to live in Lambourn but feared she would feel isolated there and was unsure whether it was the right thing to do.
In addition, the inquest heard, she was troubled by a debt she reportedly owed to His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
She was advised to contact Citizens Advice regarding the debt but the main issue troubling her remained accommodation, the hearing was told.
Ms Jezierska was found dead by her housemates on October 21 last year.
Toxicology tests showed therapeutic levels of prescribed medicines in her system and no alcohol or illicit drugs.
The coroner said the cause of death was compression of the neck and recorded a conclusion of death by suicide.
