Woman who threw out ex boyfriend ends up in court

Defendant used 'all her force'

A WOMAN who literally threw her ex-boyfriend out her door has ended up in court charged with assault.

West Berkshire Magistrates’ Court heard on Thursday, May 26, how 47-year-old Roisin Anne Walsh had been in a relationship with the victim, Darren Giles.

But when police told her they had no power to kick him out of her home, she took the law into her own hands.

Helen Waite, prosecuting on Thursday, May 26, said Ms Walsh, of The Coombe, Streatley, had been in a relationship with Mr Giles since 2008 and although they had recently split, they apparently remained on friendly terms.

She added: “Indeed, at the time of the incident she had been living at her address but, just before this happened, she said she didn’t want him there any more.

“She had the locks changed but he attended at 1am and she allowed him in. She went to bed and Mr Giles decided to make himself some food. She became aware of this and became angry.”

Ms Walsh contacted the police and asked them to remove him, the court heard, but they told her they had no power to throw him out.

Ms Waite said: “She threw his coat outside and then shoved him in the back, causing him to fall and roll out the door. She used all her force.”

The court heard Mr Giles was particularly vulnerable due to “significant health issues” and that Ms Purvis knew this when she flung him out.

Mr Giles suffered painful injuuries to his head and hip, concluded Ms Waite.

Ms Purvis admitted committing assault by beating on May 8.

She also has previous convictions, the court heard.

Honorata Choloniewska, defending, suggested pre-sentence reports should be prepared on her client.

District Judge Davinder Lachhar agreed.

Meanwehile Ms Walsh was released on bail.
