Wonderful wetlands, netball and rambles among what-to-do today offerings
Join West Berkshire Ramblers hosting two scenic weekend walks, the first of which meets up at 9.30am in the car park, or layby at White Hill, one-and-a-half miles south of Kingsclere on the Overton Road (B3051) for a 10.1 mile walk including Kingsclere, Ecchinswell and Sydmonton.
Alternatively meet at 10.30m by the church at Aldworth for four mile walk to Pibworth and Bower farms.
Netball fans will find some courtside action at Kennet School, Thatcham, at 9.30am, or 11am.
Family fun is to be had at Wonderful Wetlands, an event hosted by the Nature Discovery Centre, Lower Way, Thatcham, including self guided walks and crafts, cost £1 per child. From 2pm to 4pm.
Find shelter in the warmth of a community gathering this evening at 6pm at St Bartholomew’s school, where some 400 people are expected to gather for a community focus event, sponsored by Christians Together in Newbury and involving 16 local churches and 15 community organisations.
