Woolhampton gravel pit search for person suspected missing




Found safe and well after search of lake area

A person believed missing in a lake at a Woolhampton Gravel pit was found safe and well last night (Fri).

Firefighters from Tadley fire station were first on the scene after being called at 7.30pm, at a gravel pit in Station Road, where a person had gone missing, after looking for a dog in a lake.

One fire engine from Tadley was joined by another from Newbury and the water rescue unit from Caversham Road in Reading, along with an ambulance and paramedic.

However the missing person was discovered safe and well shortly before firefighters arrived and who left the scene after half an hour.
