Woolton Hill teenager in regional final of national talent competition
Emma Lawrence, aged 16, beat off thousands of young hopefuls to gain a place in the TeenStar competition’s regional finals, to be held in Fareham, on Sunday, April 14. Emma impressed judges with a song she penned herself, All the Things I Want to Say, which she accompanied on acoustic guitar.
TeenStar spokesman, Chris Grayston, said: “We are looking to find an act that has something unique to offer... with both the ability to deliver a strong live performance but also potential to become a professional recording artist.”
Competition categories include: late teens (aged 16 to 19), mid-teens (aged 13 to 15) and pre-teens. The national finals of TeenStar will be held at the 02 Arena in London, at a date to be announced.
Emma, who performs at venues in and around Newbury, will be getting in some practice with a performance at Central Studio’s Open Mic event at Basingstoke on Friday, and then at The Gun, Wash Common, from 9pm on Saturday, March 16.
