World Book Day – special Newbury Weekly News supplement out this week featuring World Book Day in our schools




Characters of all shapes and sizes set children’s minds into a reading frenzy, as World Book Day was celebrated at schools across the district.

Throughout last week schools across West Berkshire and North Hampshire took part in a host of World Book Day events – and we were there to capture all the magic.

Like many other schools, at the Parsons Down Partnership the children enjoyed a story time session, where pupils from different classes joined up to share their favourite stories.

Children also brought in cakes with a book theme for a special competition run by the parents’ association.

The school also ran a competition for children to design some art work for a new school newspaper ‘The Parsons Down News.
