Year 13 students don vibrant outfits to celebrate end of their time at Kennet School in Thatcham
Year 13 students celebrated their last day at Kennet School on Friday (May 9).
The event marked the end of their time at school before they commence their exams and venture into the world of work, apprenticeships and higher education.
The day began with a colourful parade of students dressed in a wide range of creative and imaginative fancy dress outfits.
Students were welcomed with a guard of honour formed of Year 7 pupils as they arrived at the school, cheering them on.
Later in the day, students and staff gathered for a celebration assembly.
A series of awards recognised students’ academic achievements, personal growth and contributions to the school community.
But it was also a chance to reflect on shared memories.
Head of Sixth Form Ronnie Tamale said: “Celebration Day is always a special moment in the school calendar.
“It’s a chance for us to honour everything our Year 13s have contributed to the school.
“It’s been a pleasure to be part of their journey. We’re incredibly proud of them all and excited to see what they do next.
“This year group have had exceptional offers for future study, including Oxford and Cambridge.”
The day ended with opportunities to socialise and take photos.
The school wishes all Year 13 students the very best in their upcoming exams and future endeavours.
