Yellow warning for rain issued today (Sunday)
The Met Office has said that strong winds and heavy rain will batter the country once again and further flooding is anticipated in some areas, either due to surface flooding or exacerbating existing issues.
However, as of 10.30am this morning, the Environment Agency has not placed any rivers in West Berkshire on flood alert.
The warning follows hundreds of homes across the district being left without power yesterday after trees fell on power lines following strong winds.
Bagnor was left without power for three hours yesterday and one resident in Wickham tweeted NewburyToday saying that she had been without power since 4.05pm and there had been no update from SSE until 12.45am.
SSE has reported power cuts in Boxford, Donnington, Speen, Hampstead Norreys, Padworth, Stanford Dingley, Sulhampstead and Tutts Clump.
The weather also saw the Burys Bank Road in Greenham and the A339 near Kingsclere closed yesterday after trees fell in to the road.
