Yellow weather warning for West Berkshire




HERE comes the thunder, lightning and rain...plus a yellow weather warning for our region from the Meteorological Office.

Yellow warnings mean it is likely that the weather will cause some low level impacts, including some disruption to travel in a few places.

The regional forecast for this evening (Sunday) is as follows:

"Further heavy rain and thunderstorms leading to a chance of flooding and disruption on Sunday afternoon and night.

"Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures

"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds

"Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services

"There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost."

The Met Office advice states: "Many people may be able to continue with their daily routine, but there will be some that will be directly impacted and so it is important to assess if you could be affected."
