Young entrepreneurs showcase business talent

A trade fair was held in Newbury on Saturday as part of the Young Enterprise programme in West Berkshire

WEST Berkshire's young entrepreneurs showcased their business talents at a trade fair in Newbury on Saturday (February 5).

As part of the Young Enterprise programme, a trade fair was held outside Debenhams in the Kennet Shopping centre, which gave this year's teams a chance to showcase their products.

Six secondary schools are competing in the programme this year, which involves around 300 pupils aged between 16 and 18 who in teams set up and run their own business for one academic year.

As part of the programme, pupils get to learn about company finance, marketing, sales, manufacturing, IT, market research and personnel, while they also develop teamwork, organisation and communication skills.
