The theme of the competition is and the contest is intended to ‘encourage a sense of belonging to a vibrant community’, with entries reflecting what people feel about living in Thatcham.
The competition will form part of this year’s Thatcham Festival which runs from October 10 to 23.
The chairman of Thatcham Photographic Club, Paul Roberts, said: “We are very excited about this competition.
“We are a club which cooperates with many organisations and clubs in the town and we are keen to encourage young people to take an interest in their town and also photography.
“With the added advantage of high ownership of mobile phones among students we are hopeful of having lots of
entries and a difficult judging task.”
There are three age groups with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each group
Students may submit up to three photos, which must be their own work and unaided by others.
Images can be emailed to
festivalcomp@thatchamphotoclub.com and the deadline is September 27.
All young people up to 17 years old are encouraged to enter for a chance to win a prize of up to £50 in vouchers of their choice
