Youngsters invited to help charity and local shops
Easter egg hunt arranged in Wash Common
CHILDREN can become Easter sleuths while supporting charity and local shops this weekend.
Youngsters can search for clues in and around shops in Monument Close, Wash Common, collecting letters to reveal a word that will entitle them to win a free Easter egg.
The event will also serve as a fund and awareness raiser for Guide Dogs.
Organiser Rachel Spillane is busy creating the clues and said: “No doubt this will help to increase the footfall among the shops, while raising money and awareness for Guide Dogs.
“As well as inviting guide dogs and retired dogs we will also have a ‘person-sized dog’ on show.”
The event is due to take place between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, March 19.
It will start and finish at the Budgens store.
The store has held its own fundraisers for Guide Dogs after thieves stole around £300 from a charity collection tin in October last year.
Wanting to replace the money, the store raised around £500 with help from local schoolchildren.
