Your photos - Colour of Time

Readers send in their pictures of Friday's powder-throwing fun

YOU’VE heard of the expression painting the town red – but on Friday evening Newbury was doused in just about every colour imaginable.

Hundreds of fun-loving people gathered in the Market Place to get covered from head to foot in an explosion of colourful natural corn powder in a festival called ‘The Colour of Time’.

It proved to be quite a spectacle, with people getting into the thick of the action by smearing their friends, families and even complete strangers with the bright powder.

The hour-long free event, part of Newbury Corn Exchange’s outdoor arts programme, was inspired by the traditional Indian Festival Holi and incorporated dance and music into a technicolor parade.

Here are some of the pictures you sent in to us.

For the full report, and for more photos, pick up a copy of this week's Newbury Weekly News, on sale Thursday.
