Why in heaven's name haven't you given Apolitical as an option in this poll?????? What a damn swizz!!!!!!!
04/05/2017 - 13:01
EugeneStryker, you sound just like those remoaning prophets of doom who have so far not shown any credible evidence of disaster. Sounds as if you have a vested interest in staying part of the EU's bloated anti-democratic club. One thing we true Brits dislike is jumped up foreign bureaucrats threatening us.
13/05/2017 - 00:12
If the EU is so anti democratic how come
a) Nigel Farage got elected ?
b) It publishes all the payments made to West Berkshire
And in case you don't know it pays around £16 million to farms in West Berkshire.
06/06/2017 - 14:02
Yes, any have any idea how much Mr Benyon receives?
07/05/2017 - 19:07
We haven't left the EU yet.
04/05/2017 - 17:05
Basher, I did vote 'remain' an opinion shared by the leaders of the US, India, China, Australia, the Bank of England, the IMF, the IFS, the CBI, five former NATO secretary generals, the chief exec of the NHS and most of Britain's trade unions. I am not a unreserved fanboy of the EU and it has its problems but to call it anti-democratic demonstrates your lack of understanding of how it works. The idea that we will be able to waltz around the globe picking up trade deals is ridiculous, the easiest of them can take 7 years to negotiate - we will be competing against the best trade teams in the world with an inexperienced team and I think you will be disappointed by the concessions we will have to make (weakening visa controls for China + India, US corporations access to the NHS, food quality standards etc). What scares me most however is the Great Repeal Bill will be taken as an opportunity by the Tories to screw ordinary folk like you and me. But that doesn't fit on the side of a bus.
12/05/2017 - 15:03
Very very well said. Unfortinately the shit we are about to find ourselves in is way beyond the level of understanding of most people.

I'd never vote for the Liberal Undemocrats. They are just Labour in a yellow skin.
Anyone is better than voting for a Tory such as Mr Benyon
29/04/2017 - 17:05
Better than yellow-bellied Benyon. Voting for Article 50 against the will of his constituents because he's too scared to stand up against the party whip.
30/04/2017 - 15:03
You do realise the referendum was a country wide binary decision - at no stage was the referendum ever based on a constituency level - so what you have written is totally invalid and therefore a down-right lie. But then that's what you'd expect from a Lib Undem - lies, spin, distortion and a refusal to accept the will of the whole country.
22/04/2017 - 17:05
Yes! Let's vote to cause instability, turmoil and a lack of consistency! The UnLiberal Undemocrats with Beetlejuice Farron as its leader! Nope, I'll vote Tory thanks. And these polls do not give an accurate reflection. If you want to see what the likelihood is as to whether Bunting will win, click onto Electoral Calculus. Benyon is predicted to INCREASE his majority!
How anyone can votes for such a man is beyond me.
29/04/2017 - 21:09
We need to do everything we can to stop Benyon from getting elected. He is part of the problem and a liability to West Berkshire. He will follow the party whip, allowing cuts to services and a hard Brexit that impacts both business and our open and tolerant community, cripples our NHS and makes life even harder for those already struggling.
I could never vote for such a person as Mr 'self interest' Benyon and I have been educating people about his hypocrisy and pure greed.
All he cares about is appeasing the Whips.
24/04/2017 - 20:08
But if you prefer to be represented by one of the most wealthy landlords in the UK, who has a record of evicting his tenants, being paid £1000/day for jobs in the side, whilst claiming parliamentary expenses to pay his sister as a 'researcher', . then vote Benyon !
Electoral Calculus site is intetesting. However it doesn't take into account local issues such as:
. Benyon refusing to vote against 44% budget cuts in W.Berks leading to closure of libraries, cuts to social services and schools
. Benyon voting against his constituency on Article 50
. Benyon never once voting against the whip, indicating that he is not able to represent W.Berks when required
Refusing to vote against those things just to avoid being labeled a complete hypocrite - Year 2016/17 he raked in hundreds of thousands of pounds from renting properties in West Berkshire to people whose rents are paid by housing benefit (tax payer).
25/04/2017 - 08:08
Exactly why I won't be voting for him. If the opinion polls are correct and the Conservatives are set to increase their majority, then I may as well vote on local issues.
