Berkshire up date on February 11 offers Bracknell trip as an incentive

NEWBURY BLUES have been drawn at home to Reading Abbey in the opening round of this season's Berkshire Knock-Out Cup.

Abbey are fourth to bottom in South West Division One East - where Blues are headed if relegated this season.

The tie will be played at Monks Lane on Saturday, February 11 with the visitors travelling to Bracknell in the semi-finals.

Redingensians face Reading in the other first round tie, while Bracknell and Maidenhead have byes in the eight-team competition.

Tadley take on neighbours Aldermaston on February 11 in the first round of the Berkshire Plate with the winners going to Broadmoor, while Thatcham entertain Berkshire Shire Hall two weeks later to earn a home game with Windsor.

Thatcham also have a date in the Southern Counties Cup when they are at home to Wootton Bassett on Sunday, February 12.
