Another setback for Hungerford

Nine-man Hungerford were defeated 2-0 by Mangotsfield United last night in a further blow to their play-off hopes

HUNGERFORD suffered a quadruple blow to their Zamaretto League Division One South and West play-off hopes when they went down 2-0 at Mangotsfield United last night (Monday) and had two players sent off.

Two first half goals left Mangotsfield well-placed in third spot while Hungerford remain five points adrift of the qualifying zone, albeit with two games in hand.

But a run of only one point from nine has left Hungerford with a lot to do, and they had a lot to do last night after falling behind to Karim Randall's 10th minute opener and a 32nd minute goal from Tom Knighton.

And when Ryan Crockford was sent off for collecting two yellow cards, and Matt Day followed him with half-an-hour still to play, Hungerford had to settle for damage-limitation.
