Ava Lee and Holly Rider keep Falkland top of the pile in debut season

Falkland Women remain top of the Home Counties League Division 2 South and West after they beat Oxford.

Openers Holly Rider (111 not out) & Ava Lee scoring her first century (117 not out) combined to form a formidable partnership, full of high quality stroke making to post a club record partnership of 278 off just 30 overs.

When Oxford lost both their opening batters in reply to some fantastic ground fielding, the tone was set for the rest of the match.

Izzy Storrar then shone with the ball taking 5-10 to help bowl Oxford out for 81.

Falkland's first team moved up to fifth in Division 1 of the Thames Valley Cricket League after a seven-wicket victory over Ickenham.

In Division 4a, Falkland 2nd lost to Theale & Tilehurst by 107 runs.

The pick of the bowlers was Edan Camplin (3-37), while Graham Beal and Nigel Trumper took two wickets.

In Division 6b, Falkland 3rd lost by two wickets against Finchampstead 4th.

Elsewhere, Falkland Dev fell to a narrow 18-run defeat to Purley in the Berkshire Cricket League Division 2 West.
