RUGBY: Five tries but Newbury are still looking for their first win of the season
NEWBURY BLUES picked up their first Division Three South and West point of the season when suffering their third straight defeat in going down 44-36 at home to Exmouth.
Newbury were 29-17 down at the interval but got back to 36-37 at one stage before Exmouth ran in a late try to seal the result.
Newbury's tries came from Ben Louisson (2), Alistair Widdop, Matt Maher and Oscar Matthews, who also kicked four conversions and a penalty.
TADLEY followed up their opening day win in Southern Counties North with a 41-22 win at Wallingford, while Thatcham again revelled with a 62-5 beating of Phoenix at Henwick in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premier Division. Hungerford went down 41-17 at Princes Risborough in the same league.
