Bike tour in honour of the macabre
With 45, 65 and 80 mile routes available, the event is open to entrants of all cycling ability and follows the recent success of the Tour de Yorkshire.
The ‘Black Legend Sportive’ is named in honour of 17th century Combe Gibbet, where farm labourer George Broomham and his mistress Dorothy were executed for murdering his wife and son.
The event is based on Hungerford and will cover the local area starting on Sunday, March 22 at 8am. All entrants will be chip timed and all finishers will receive an innovative hangman-style medal.
Entry fees range from £25 - £29 and the event is organised by Purple Patch, an established team of race organisers who currently manage a number of other events across the region including the Genpact Pharmalink Maidenhead Half Marathon and Butler’s Bonk Duathlon in Reading.
