Blues at strength for Witney visit
World Cup 'calls' over as league campaign returns to normal
NEWBURY BLUES return to league action at Witney on Saturday back to full strength following ‘World Cup calls’ upon their players.
The lure of watching, rather than playing, meant that Blues had to reshuffle in recent games, but they are out in force for a trip to face the Oxfordshire side that have not beaten in recent season.
“I’ve never won there,” said head coach Lee Goodall, “and we’ve always seemed to go there with significant changes to the team. It was very different this week to be picking the team from what is a full strength squad.”
The only certain absentee is scrum half Andy Herriott, but regular number nine Joe Pigott is available again after a statutory rest for concussion.
