Blues stay serious for Swanage trip
Changes for Dorset venture as third successive win is the target
NEWBURY BLUES face a second successive match with a new-promoted side when they go to Swanage and Warerham in South West One East on Saturday.
Having beaten high Wycombe last week, they take on a Swanage side that swept past all comers in Southern Counties South last season, but has found the higher level a tougher nut to crack having lost heavily at home to Towcestrians in their first game and less severely at Maidenhead last week.
“Their coaches told us that there was a big gap between the two levels, “said Blues’ head coach Lee Goodall.
“But we will not be taking them lightly,” he added. “Until this season, they were unbeaten at home for a couple of years and they are in this league for a reason.”
Blues will be without Josh Love, Tom Sanders, Jamie Futcher and Josh Bartlett and are likely to rest Duncan Craigen while he gets over a knee injury, but into the squad come the returning Ryan Davis, Robbie Drysdsale, Ryan Treviskas and Andy Herriott.
