Blues stretched up front
Front line concerns as Newbury bid to have a say in who goes down with them
RELEGATED Newbury Blues go into their final month's worth of games in National League Two South scratching about for a front row to take them to Shelford on Saturday.
Injuries, Tom Fidler, Natham Thomas and Alistair Widdop leave them stretched as they bit to play a part in deciding which clubs go down with them.
One of the relegation-haunted, Hinckley, won 37-22 at Monks Lane last week and similarly-threatened Cambridgeshire side Shelford and Canterbury are in Blues' sights.
"If we can beat either of them, that could put them down with us," said director of rugby Andy Widdop.
He will also be without young backs Myles Roberts-Bailey and Jon Inglis, although Andy Gale, Ben West and Matt Bohl come into the reckoning.
