Bottom pair looking to rise

Falkland and Thatcham go into home games in need of points to escape the foot of their tables

FALKLAND and Thatcham will be aiming to clamber off the bottom of their respective tables when they go into home games on Saturday.

Falkland entertain second in the table High Wycombe having gone back to the foot of the Home Counties Premier League's top fight last week.

We've have got to show the that we know how to battle in the position we are in," said skipepr George Trewby.

"In all but one game this season we have got ourselves into positons where we could have gone on and got a positive result, but it hasn't happened, and we have to work on that."

Falkland will field an extra batsman on Saturday with James Morris, Tom Heath and Steve Pope all called in, Joel Martin and the working Will Challoner missing out.

THATCHAM were sent to the bottom of Division One of the Thames Valley League after being made to pay for some sloppy fielding at leaders Cove before going down by a narrow 15-run margin.

"We might have won," said skipper Danny Williams, "but our outfielding let us down in the end."

Ali Naqvi again shone with a century, and Thatcham will hope to stiffen their ranks by calling up Robb Fraser, Dan Stone and Simon Rider for the visit of Finchampstead on Saturday.
