Bronze for Rocky Golby at England Boxing Junior Championships in Wigan

15-year-old Rocky Golby is one of the top four boxers in the country.

The Home Counties Junior Cadet Champion was beaten in the semi-finals of the England Boxing Junior Championships in Wigan.

It ends a great run of results for the Turnpike-based talent.

He beat the Western Counties Champion, Liam Tate of Taunton, and then Kian Aragosa, the Eastern Counties Champion.

At the semi-finals in Wigan his run was finally ended by the experienced Shiloh McLeod.

He is likely to face McLeod again down the line.

Golby and Faff Glover came away with bronze medals, joint third in the country for their age and weight class.

His family credited Didcot Boxing Academy for their support, as well as his friends and family.

Golby will meet the other medallists at the NABCs later this year, as his rapid progress continues.
