Carl takes aim for Britain
The former Hampshire champion earned his place with a series of outstanding competitions that saw him reach the qualifying mark based on his best three of four scores from different events and grounds this year.
He set off in march at the A1 Shooting Ground at Borehamwood where he shot 20 ex 20, going on to score 19 x 20 at Rugby and 18 at the Invicta club.
Those results were enough to secure top ranking, leaving the next three highest guns to shoot off for second and third places.Miles, who runs his own contracting company in Thatcham, admitted that it had been a tsting pursuit qualifying.
“It has been hard going, given the heavy work load recently within my family's company,” he said, “and finding time for practice .
“But I'm proud of the fact I will be shooting for my country, and this being the year of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and London Olympics makes it feel that extra bit special.”
