Men’s champion David Niven won the England Golf South Eastern Seniors Championship at Felixstowe Ferry on in midweek to claim his second major senior title after winning the West of England crown earlier in the year.
He led by a single shot from England senior international John Ambridge after carding an excellent 74 in terrible conditions.
Those conditions worsened, forcing the second round to be abandoned and the result declared on the first round scores.
Meanwhile, lady champion Linda Hunt won three trophies in one day at the recent Berkshire Autumn Meeting.
She claimed The Edna Simmons Trophy for the lowest gross at the Autumn Meeting, the Joyce Cave Cup for the lowest aggregate gross score at the Spring and Autumn Meeting and the Helen Brown Sauce Boat for the lowest aggregate net score at the same event.
