Dave cleans up at angling association awards
DAVE Chandler celebrated a season to remember at Reed Thatcham Angling Association’s annual meeting and presentation evening at Thatcham Town FC.
Chandler was in dominant form all season, winning a total of eight awards – including the coveted Champion Angler and Club trophies.
Other winners included John Cox, who won three trophies, Ian Purvis (two), Tom Finn, Colin Sheppard, Jeff Fisher and Jumbo Blanchard.
Isaac Ward won the Lake Shield for a fifth time and together with his father Terry won the Pairs award.
The club, which enjoys a healthy match set-up, fished over 25 events during the year on its own stretches of the Kennet & Avon canal, river Kennet and other local waters.
Chairman Mark Rutter said: “Despite the challenging weather conditions for the latter part of the season, we managed to fish a full match schedule and I congratulate all of our winners and also our regular match anglers.”
The 2024/25 RTAA match season has already begun and further matches are planned on almost a weekly basis through to next March.
New club members are always welcome and information is available by contacting Mark Rutter on 07808 260307 or via Thatcham Angling Centre, Tadley Angling Centre, Outlaw Pro Tadley or Thatcham Tyre and Exhaust.
