Cauley Suttie picked up a hat-trick of trophies at Thames Valley Boxing Club’s annual presentation night.
Suttie was named Junior Boxer of the Year for his outstanding achievement in reaching the Junior Development finals in Rotherham.
And he also won the Boxers’ Boxer award for his commitment in the gym.
To complete a hat-trick of trophies, Suttie was presented with the Berkshire Youth Presidents Cup by Dave Seward, chief executive of Berkshire Youth.
Aaron Duncan was named Clubman of the Year.
Duncan scooped the prize at the Faraday Road club for his commitment to training and his ability to learn the skill of boxing.
Schoolboy of the Year was Jack Tomlinson, who boxed eight times this season, many against opponents more experienced than him.
The senior boxer prize went to Tom Soanes for his boxing skills.
Club president Jason Sutton presented The Mick Sutton Shield to Jack Tomlinson for winning his bout at the club’s annual dinner show in May.
And the Johnny Bremner Heart and Courage Trophy went to Archie Jury for his excellent bout at the same show.
There were also ABA Bronze awards presented to Travis Withers, Marcus Seming and Jack Adamson.
Kevin Haynes of Rayner Diesel sponsored the trophies.
All Thames Valley Club coaches felt the boxers were given the awards for putting the extra work in the gym, road work and their bouts.
Head coach Paul Cooke congratulated all of the boxers for showing their skills, courage and determination at the annual dinner show at Newbury Racecourse in May.
Club members who have been in the gym for sometime have learnt that the art of boxing is to “hit your opponent but not to get hit back”.
Cooke went on to quote that “People box but it doesn’t make them a boxer”.
The club would like to thank Billy Jury of B&B Development Berkshire and Julian and Daniel Ward of Evergreen Engineering for sponsoring the show this year and coaches Rob and Sonny Jury and Daniel Ward for their continued support.
