Come and give Bowls a go for free at Thatcham this Sunday

Kennet League Champions Thatcham Bowling Club will open their doors this Sunday to anyone who would like to give the sport a go.

As part of the nationwide event, Bowls’ Big Weekend, Thatcham will join over 500 clubs from across the country in encouraging people to come and try the game for themselves.

A sport for all ages, aptitudes and physical abilities, Bowls prides itself on being accessible to everyone.

From the Commonwealth Games to local club tournaments, Lawn Bowls offers a range of opportunities to compete or simply play for fun.

Anyone interested in giving bowls a go is invited to come down to the club at Thatcham’s Memorial Playing Field on Sunday 26th May.

Starting at 10am and finishing at 4pm, coaches will be on hand to offer free tuition, with all the required equipment provided at no cost. Flat soled trainers are preferred if you have them, but are not compulsory.

Food and drink will be available, with Thatcham’s bar and Clubhouse open to all and a BBQ running throughout on what promises to be a fun afternoon for all involved.
