They were soon trailing when Jamie West headed home from Holyport’s first attack, but it did not take long for Newbury to get back on terms when youngster George Holland picked up Ray Spence’s pass and found the net from 25 yards out.
Curtis Angell had an effort cleared off the line but Newbury had to wait until the start of the second period to take the lead when Barry Elmore set up Spence to score from the edge of the area.
The tie was settled with 20 minutes to go when Kalief Madden was brought down in the area for Ben McCready to score from the spot and Spence combined with Madden to wrap up the scoring and give Newbury a £900 winner’s purse.
