HUNGERFORD’S lean run saw the crash out of the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup on Monday night after a performance that summed up the recent spell.

Missed chances and simple goals meat a first round exit at the hands of an Aylesbury side from the lower division of the Evo Stik League Southern.

Hungerford appeared to be moving steadily towards a place in the next round as they plaed patintly and looked sharper than the visitors, going ahead with a superb strike from Stefan Brown.

But the visitors played themselves back into the game and turne dit aorund with two goals in the space of four minutes either side of the interval from Ryan O’Toole and and Ken Feyi, who continued to pose problems while Hungerford went in search of an equaliser.

They should have had that with Dean Stow and Matt Collins having efforts saved by goalkeeper James Weatherill, while Harry Goodger blasted an open goal chance against the bar.

Jeanmal Prosper missed a chance to kill it off for the visitors, but they did that six minutes from time with a simple header from substitute Lynton Goss to leave Hungerford without a win in eight matches.
