Dan's in the can for Hungerford
The former Poole Town skipper only joined Dorchester this season, but a recent change of manager and the Dorset club’s financial issues prompted a re-think and Wilkinson (pictured) was quick to respond.
“I heard that was unhappy so called their manager and asked if I could speak to him.
“He said yes, and that he would release him.
“I know it’s another forward, but how could I turn him down? He was with Poole when they won the league and I’m sure they and Weymouth would have had him there with them tomorrow.
“It’s another great singing for the club.”
Cann lives in the Bournemouth area but was quick to sign and if all the paperwork is completed in time, he will go into the squad for Saturday’s home game with Hitchin Town. There is a space available as Charlie Mpi has not recovered from a hamstring injury and misses out.
